UAS Multispectral Operations is a 2-day training course designed for individuals or teams looking to understand how to implement multi-spectral imaging sensors in their commercial UAS operations. It is expected that students already have their FAA RPIC certificate prior to attending the course.

Two days of academics and operational flight training specifically focused on multispectral payloads.

Course Content

UAS Multispectral Operations Course is a 2-day course that combines both academic and flight operations training.

During the classroom academics, students will receive:

  • A broad overview of UAS remote sensing applications.
  • An in-depth dive into multi-spectral imaging technology and capabilities.
  • A thorough understanding of how to prepare and plan UAS flight operations using multi-spectral payloads.
  • PLUS an intensive and detailed workshop on how to analyze and process multi-spectral images and data captured with your UAS.

During the operational flight training, students will partake in:

  • Complete system set-up and payload calibration.
  • Pre-flight mission planning.
  • Simulated missions as both pilot-in-command and visual observer.
  • Commercial operations workflow – using the UAS and multi-spectral imaging sensor for specific data capture missions.
