Drones will change aviationNASA is picturing that unmanned aerial vehicles will a part of every home in the next 5 to 10 years. According to Parimal Kopadekar, manager of Nasa’s Safe Autonomous System Operations Project at Ames Research Centre, every home will be utilizing drones for a large variety of purposes such as rooftop inspections, agriculture, hobbies and much more.

Many leading companies are realizing drones will completely transform aviation. Google’s Dave Vos, who is leading Project Wing is working with NASA on an air traffic control system for small unmanned aerial vehicles.

Kopadekar said multiple companies could provide this kind of air traffic control for different needs. Vos imagines using the same technology that allows mobile devices to talk to each other and the network-systems that also decide which messages go first and ensure that everything gets communicated in milliseconds.
